Using Motion to Add Visual Interest
My supervisor wanted me to create videos using serigraph prints for Phenom Gallery, a subdivision of Uncanny Brands (a multi-brand, pop-culture consumer products company). I had an idea to create a “paint-on” animation of each individual color layer that transitions into the final product. The work was intended to be displayed on the company’s TikTok and Instagram accounts to promote the prints.
Process and Impact
The process starts in Adobe Illustrator where each color layer is separated into its own artboard. After the files are exported as PNGs, I imported them to Adobe After Effects where I used both the pen tool and the brush tool to create the “paint-on” animation. These videos were posted onto Instagram and TikTok and generating a total of 3k+ views and 107 likes across both platforms. Two Instagram accounts reposted two of my videos.

Johnson’s Baby Introducing New Conditioner Through Email Campaign
I collaborated with a copywriter to create a hypothetical email campaign Johnson’s Baby’s new conditioner. The goal was to increase awareness of the product, encouraging purchases by getting people to click through the CTA. The target audience of the campaign is parents of young children ages 0-2 years. They are looking to purchase the highest quality products for their children that keeps their kids' hair soft and moisturized.
Using a Copy-First Approach to Follow an Existing Design System
Before designing the email, I was given a document of copy. This was my jumping off point in considering visual hierarchy while following Johnson’s Baby’s brand style. I briefly signed up for Johnson’s Baby’s mailing list to get an idea of their email template. However, I only received one during this project, so I didn’t have other emails to compare and get a full understanding of their email template. I looked to their posts on Instagram, Facebook, and their official website to get an idea of their brand style. This project was a fun challenge, seeing how closely I could follow Johnson’s Baby’s brand style and fitting copy I was provided into that brand style.

Translating the 60s Psych Style Concert Poster to a Modern Psych Rock Audience
Wes Wilson’s concert posters are some of my favorite poster designs, so I created a fictitious festival poster for a modern psychedelic rock scene. A person is used as the focal point to enhance relatability, representing the young target audience. Key information is grouped together and placed on different parts of her body—headliners on her hair, date and place on her glasses, name of event on her shirt.
Evoking Movement Within a Static Image
The primary font used for this project is Hendrix Groove—a display font with smooth block lettering that gives the impression that the characters are moving. Diagonal, curved lines represent the supporting acts of the festival, giving off the vibrant and dynamic feel of the event—blistering sun rays of a summer’s day or sound waves of loud energetic music.
